The Community Viru Noorsoo Areng was founded in April 2000. As an umbrella organisation, it incorporates the following societies: the Cultural Society of National Minorities in the Baltic States, the Youth Club Oma territoorium, the Cultural Society Theatre 357, Kiviõli Open Youth Center, Gipsies Cultural Center in Tallinn, Alla Duhova´s Dance School TODES, and the Association of Countrymen Minu Virumaa. Our Community coordinates the activities of the following informal clubs and organizations: Latinski kvartal, the Association of Tallinn Schoolchildren, the Extreme Sports Club Adrenalin, the Tallinn Ballet Society, and the Young Politicians Club Deyatel. The basic aims pursued by the Community Viru Noorsoo Areng involve the following: Since its inception, the Community Viru Noorsoo Areng has been involved in implementing various projects in such spheres as culture, sports, education, integration, youth activities and social issues. We arrange festivals, exhibitions, camps, round table discussions, lectures, seminars, excursions, theatrical performances, concerts, meetings with popular persons, etc. Every year, we conduct at least forty events both in Estonia and abroad. Members of our organization participate in international projects and programmes in Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Finland, Ukraine, and other countries. Viru Noorsoo Areng has close cooperation with organizations of the public, private, and third sector. The Community is a member of the EMSL. |
